So I just made my gaming rig and just got a new 2tb hdd after the one I originally got was a dud. And when I installed it I booted everything up and started to install windows and then was so happy. TILL “the computer has restarted unexpectedly or encountered and unexpected error.Windows Cannot proceed. To install windows . Click ok to restart computer and then restart installation.” So I was like ok so I restart it and it just loops over and over. So I look at the forum and people say to press f10 and shift to pull up a command prompt but nothing pops up and then others say the fn and shift and f10 key together but nothing works.Plz help Also I have a h110 MSI gaming motherboard idk if that helps

Cpu: I-5 7500
Gpu: gtx 1060 scc
Ram: ddr4 8gb 2x4
Hdd: 2tb hdd
PS:700w
Mb: H110m MSi motherboard

what are rest of specs of PC?

So i guess if you try to boot off the Installer USB it just gets that error? You might need to run this on HDD to wipe it: (free version) http://www.dban.org/

Might need to remove any unnecessary extras so perhaps remove GPU (and use onboard)
Only use 1 stick of ram
remove any extra USB devices like external hdd

Download memtest86 and test your ram sticks, one at a time. Any errors are too many and a sign ram is your problem.

Which BIOS do you have as version 7994v5A was released on the 14th December, and might help - there is a video link on thsi page that shows how to update BIOS: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H110M-GAMING#down-bios

So I can’t acess the bios but I did update bios with the latest update online. But how do I run the hdd wipe and how do I run the memtest86 . When I turn on the computer it goes straight to trying to install windows and doesn’t let me access bios.

well, the web site for their manual refused to open up for me in Chrome or Firefox, lucky it did in Edge: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H110M-GAMING#down-manual

well, the button to get into your bios should be DEL so try holding it down before PC starts and keep it held in until it works or its obvious PC is ignoring you (see page 15 of manual)

another way is to clear the CMOS, this is described on Page 14 of your manual)

PC should load you into BIOS after resetting CMOS just so you can set defaults
