Hi!

I basically know nothing about OC,this is my PC:
Case: Deepcool Earlkase RGB, 3x120 Arctic cooler fans on the front and 2x120 Deepcool fans on the top
CPU: i7-8700k
Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A
Ram: 2x8GB G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200mhz
PSU: Corsair RM850x
CPU cooler: Deepcool Maelstrom 120T with Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste

i use AIDA64 Extreme for monitoring Temps etc..

what i did is inside bios i used Asus EZTuning, then set the purpose of PC to Gaming/Editing video, cpu cooler: water cooling and manualy set the ram speed to 3200mhz.

the results in aida64 is:
CPU Clock: 5150Mhz
RAM Clock: 3200Mhz
CPU Core: 1.456V
CPU VID: 1.448V
DIMM: 1.360V
CPU Temp: 35c on idle with room temp: 22c
and 70c on AIDA64 CPU stress test (checked ONLY cpu box, not fpu and cache)

Are those numbers good? i read somewhere that 1.45v is extremely dangerous..
What about my temps?

i don't know/don't want to mess with manual voltage, i just use asus utilities etc.. the other "method" i tried is just reset everything to default, and on bios just select "extreme tuning", and X.M.P. proflie, that gives me 1.376-1.456V and 4.7-5.0GHZ depending on the load and the processes.

(i guess my temps are more than fine?)

Your going to fry that chip fast at 1.45v. At that point cool chips do not matter that much. It is how much electrical stress you are putting on the cpus circuitry. Your putting way too much on it.

you mean 75-80 on idle?? or on gaming? i don't get 75-80c even on 1.45v and on stress test.. is that normal? (unless i am doing something wrong in stress test)

He mean 75 - 80 with the CPU running at full speed under max load.

When you are using Aida64 stress test check 3 boxes:
Stress CPU
Stress FPU
Stress cache

Then look at your temps after running it for 15 - 20 minutes.

ok, now that makes sense, thanks a lot, i managed to manualy OC it yesterday setting the core at 1.350V. CPU is clocked now at 5.0Ghz, i did a very quick stress test yesterday with all 3 boxes checked and the temps were exactly as you mention, 75-80c, but need further testing for sure.

Thanx a lot.
