Hi

I am about to purchase a new monitor

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01H07FVBS/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1

I have read that this monitor does not have display port, and that a dvi adapter is provided

However I am unsure if this will allow me to run at 1440p 144 Hz with a 1080ti

There are many conflicting opinions online and I'm worried I will end up stuck at 60 Hz

Can any one who knows about this pleas shed any light on this for me

Thank you

Tom

Solution
You need to use display port to get 1440p 144hz with that monitor. It does have a display port port, not sure if it comes with the cable if not you will need to buy a display port 1.2 cable.

Thanks for your answer

Just so I'm clear , my 1080 ti currently has display port ( so I can use 4k on my current monitor at 60hz)

So I can simply connect my current display port cable and it will provide 1440p at 144hz ?

Sorry this is a big investment for me is all so i want to be 100% sure

It DOES have display port on the monitor my mistake

Depends on the game and the framerate you can achieve and yes. I have a gsync 1440p 165hz monitor and after using gsync I don't think I could go back. However in games where I can regularly get say over 100fps I dont really notice a difference with or without gsync, no noticeable tearing or input lag either way.

I find gsync very helpful with say my modded sykrim. Skyrim freaks out if you run it above 60fps and with my ENB and mods I will sometimes dip itnto the 40s, gsync is very nice in that scenario as dips below 60fps are barley noticeable.

Well I have 1080 ti in sli so frames shouldn't fall below 144hz . Mainly this will be used for counter strike and various single player games

I do not use vsync in csgo currently

The monitor vapour recommended comes with g sync however it has an estimated 2 months delivery ( crazy) so I'm torn

From reading up on gsync it's beneficial if frames are lower than 144hz however screen tearing is no huge issue in csgo and my frames are around 400 . In single player the v sync option doesn't bother me ad reactions aren't as necessary as twitch online shooters

I think I might get the Zowie I just hope I don't regret g sync

I'm so sorry vapour I've just checked the link. 2 working days for delivery at same price. You've convinced me partly for g sync partly because it looks awesome .

Thanks for providing that you are a legend

I have an i7770k which I haven't yet overcooked. 16 gb ram and as for the mobo I can't remember the exact model I just remember following sli reccomendations on a post on this site

Tbh I've not yet met a game that it can't handle in 4k

Except Skyrim... but Skyrim

With the 40 fps drops in Skyrim I'm not the only one. With about 60 mods etc it's something that I can't fix . In the area around whiterun for example. I do have ugrids at 11 though .

ugrids at 11? Lol. I think you are pushing it there, no wonder you are in the 40s. I get 60fps rock solid with over 70 mods at 1440p with a 1060, assuming I don't use an ENB. And this is Skyrim Special Edition. I don't go past ugrids 7, just not worth it to me.
