Trying to install GPU

Greetings.
I saw many threads like this, but since they are old, I'm opening new one.
I've found interesting mobo to build, so I could play older games. I can put Phenom x4 in...
I have nvidia 9400gt which I want to use, but for some reason I can't get picture when I connect monitor on it.
What I've did :
- updated BIOS
- reinstall nvidia drivers
- pull out GPU, and back in slot again
- pull out RAM, back in slot again

Fan is spinning, so card is getting power.When I connect integrated GPU everything works ok.
Device manager doesn't show anything in pci-e slot.Only integrated nvidia graphics.

Help please.

Have you gone in to your BIOS to set the add on card as your default display device?

Bjornl, thanks for tip.
I finally found settings in southbridge configuration. But priority was already set to pcie first.
