HDMI help needed.

Ok, so I have an HP Omen 17 inch 4k gaming laptop with an Nvidia GTX 1070m 8GB video card. I'm pretty sure it has an HDMI 2.0 port on it. I recently just bought the Samsung UN40MU7000 4k TV, 40 inch, to use as the Display. However, I think the HDMI ports in it might be 1.4, because when I access the TV specs, it says 3840 x 2160 / 30p. When ever I try to game at 4k on it, the TV screen goes either bright green or bright pink and pixelates, and my laptop freezes soon after. I've hooked the laptop up to other televisions, so, I know it's possible. (I, of course, could have the HDMI's backwards and the laptop could be at 1.4 and TV could be at 2.0) Anyway, is there any way to fix this issue? I would like to know I didn't waste 600 dollars on a TV I can't use for the purpose I bought it for.

You need to enable "HDMI UHD Color" in the TV settings to enable HDMI 2.0.
