What difference does it make running 64-bit processor on 32-bit windows ?

I have AMD A4-4000 3,00 ghz 64-bit processor on 32- bit windows because of ram limit im working on upgrade . Does it make any difference by ubgrading to 64-bit windows ? like will it get some noticable performance gain ?

YES. as my short answer. definitely. upgrade to 64-bit OS. as for RAM, get at least a 2x4Gb. to see is to believe.

You should gain a performance benefit along with the system being more stable.

If you have 64-bit versions of the software programs you're running, you MAY see a performance boost by doing nothing more than installing a 64-bit version of Windows (and the 64-bit software). Otherwise, with only 4GB of RAM installed, depending on which OS and what else is running in the background, your system may be so bogged down as you would not see a performance change at all.
