Display (XB271H) flashing/flickering in games. Faulty Displayport?.

Hello.

I recently got an Acer predator 1080p 170Hz G-sync gaming display. What a lovely monitor!
(XB271H).
My issue is that in games (some significantly more than others) my screen turns black just for less than a second and sometimes it flickers. Sometimes the DP logo (displayport) flashes too. This primarily happens alot in PUBG so much that I fint it unplayable, but it happens in other games too just far less.

I have G sync enabled. Disabling makes no difference.

Is it my Displayport cable that is faulty or not powerful enough? I am considering getting a DP 1.3 cable in hopes of fixing this issue. Or is it a bad pannel or something else?
GPU is GTX 1060 6gb.

1080p 170 Hz is well within DP 1.2 spec. It's possible if you have a cheap DisplayPort cable then it may not be up to the task, but you would just need to get a VESA-certified DisplayPort cable in that case, no need for anything special.
