Hey guys, I just built my first PC and for now its looking great! but the only thing is, I can't install Windows... My specs: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Expectationz/saved/#view=4hwPsY

I'm using an official Windows 10 USB 3.0 flash drive

The first times I booted it, it couldn't read the usb in the usb 3.0 slots (it could read my keyboard though) So I put it in the usb 2.0 and booted my pc. It actually found the drive and gave me the option to install 32 or 64 bit (so I pick 64 bit) and I let it do it's thing. it said: "Loading Files..." It took maybe a good 15 mins until this error popped up: https://imgur.com/YHJAYbr (sorry for the blur)

Since then no matter how I try to install windows it loads this error in 30 seconds. I tried changing the boot priorities, booting up in the boot selection menu by mashing F8, booting a drive from the BIOS and none of those work. Any suggestions? All help is appreciated, thanks,

- OK lets leave CSM alone then. We want this system running fully UEFI.

I would actually consider just creating a Windows 10 install USB. Use another flash drive and rufus, write the ISO to the drive and make sure it's UEFI/GPT. Then boot to the drive and try to install again. It almost sounds like the data on the official flash drive is corrupt and this is known to happen. You can use the license key that came with the USB drive with the one you create.

- In BIOS you also must ensure you are booting to this usb drive as UEFI. In boot options you can select the drive directly and specifically request UEFI on some motherboards.

- Make sure launch GSM is disabled

- Is your BIOS set to legacy or UEFI boot? I think I see payload efi in that error message. I believe for that system you are supposed to use UEFI for everything.

That error page is one you get when your Windows installation has been damaged and there are corrupt system files. Since you are getting it at the stage of copying files from the USB drive to the hard drive, that seems to indicate either a problem with the image of the Windows iso copied to your USB drive, a problem with the RAM, or a problem with the SSD. It could also indicate a problem with the connections between those things.

Since the SSD already has the corrupt files on it, try running setup but choose a custom installation, and use the disk partitioning tool to remove all partitions and let it install to the unallocated space.

If that doesn't work, you can test the USB drive by getting a blank 8GB thumb drive, downloading the Windows setup files from Microsoft and making your own installation drive. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-create-installation-media

You can also either test the RAM using a test utility or try removing all but one stick at a time to see if you can get Windows installed. https://www.memtest86.com/

Ok I found launch CSM but its telling me that i need to make sure that my UEFI driver is in the plugged PCI-E based storage including M.2 SSD before set the launch CSM to disabled. Otherwise, the PCI-E based storages will be only available for the data drive usage. should I still give it a go? I'm not too sure what this means
