Laptop as second monitor, but PC won't detect.

I wanted to use my Samsung laptop as a second monitor so I bought a VGA to hdmi converter cable becuase me PC has only one HDMI slot on the back and that is being taken up by my primary monitor. I have connected the HDMI into the laptop and VGA into my PC but it wont detect a second monitor, help?

The HDMI on a laptop is an OUTPUT only. You can't use the display of a laptop as a second monitor on your desktop.
