I have an I7-6700k and at a 50 percent load got 90c. Which is obviously horrible. The fan is on turbo (h5 universal) , I have 4 case fans, 1 on top, 1 on back, and 2 in the front. I mean, I'm pretty sure I put the thermal paste on correctly, although ive really never done it before. Any ideas?

Can you please describe how much paste you put on, and how you applied it?

There are a few methods, but I personally apply just a small amount, about a grain of rice, and then install the cooler (without spreading the thermal paste). The weight of the cooler and the heat of the cpu cause the paste to spread naturally.

I went on arctics website and did what they said. Which was make a small line down the cpu without touching the edges.
