I have a EMX-A70FM2+ICAFE mobo and on the website it says it supports up to 1866mhz of ram(ddr3).While i was looking at the uefi i saw that the ram clock speed or frequency can be selected to even higher speeds. I was wondering if i can use ram with higher speed like 2100 or 2400 for this mobo..I was thinking of buying a dual ram with higher speed than my current one.. thanks

CPU: amd a10 7870k
ram : kingston hyper x fury 8gb(single) 1866
mobo: EMX-A70FM2+ICAFE

Memory will run, in most cases, up to the speed allowed by the manufacturer's motherboard BIOS. Memory by itself cannot have faster speed than what's allowed by the manufacturer's motherboard BIOS.
Have you enabled XMP in the BIOS?
Could you provide RAM model and the speed you have achieved.
I highly doubt you can reach higher than 1866MHz on that motherboard, and that requires to manually tinker with voltage and RAM CAS Latency.

I don't know the exact ram model but i can provide you with the one in cpuz

DRAM Frequency : 931.4 MHZ
FSB:DRAM 3:28
CAS# Latency : 10.0 clocks
RAS # to CAS# Delay(tRCD) : 11 clocks
RAS# Precharge(tRP): 10 clocks
Cycle time (tRas): 30 clocks
Bank Cycle Time (tRC): 42 clocks

I have tried overclocking to 2133MHz and it worked but i'm scared that my ram might get broken or something

If your system is stable then you should not worry. But to be sure, you could run MemTest86+...just let it run for 8 passes to ensure your RAM runs free of errors.

another question. is there a big difference on the performance on an apu in gaming between dual 1866 and 2133 ram?
Cause i was thinking of replacing my single ram with (4Gb x2)2133 ram, or should i just buy another single 8gb 1866 ram to pair with my old one?
