NEw LG 43" Monitor Sound only works on one side?

So when I am using this monitor, usually the sound works fine, but more than occasionally, the sound on the front right speaker just stops working. It goes dead. I can verify this by going into windows settings and turning the other channel down and the monitor is silent. The only way to fix the issue is if I turn the balance on the side not working up until it hits about 80% or so, then all of a sudden the speaker comes to life and I can balance both back like they were and it will work fine until it doesnt.

IS this a hardware issue or a software issue? Anyone had LG monitors do this? How do I make it stop?

My guess is the sound adapter drivers.
Try reinstalling them.

How are you getting sound to the monitor?
Via hdmi or dp?
Or, by a sound wire from the motherboard?
If a discrete wire, it might need reseating.
If via the graphics card, the graphics card sound driver might need reinstalling.

i had a 43 inch 4k lg monitor and return it the same day for lots of reasons including bad speakers.
