Hi.

I have decided to buy the following components with in mind that i later to gain a huge performance boost by getting a i7 or i5 8xxx.
The 400$ is the most i will use for now with my pc use which is Overwatch and photoshop/lightroom use.
I believe i will see a noticeably performance gain but not a BIG gain as the old Phenom II X6 1050T has done me good for a long time.
But with the new mobo i can get a really nice cpu when i have the spare money.

New components:
CPU Intel 1151 i3-8100 Coffee Lake
ASRock Z370 PRO4
Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Kit DDR4 4GBx2 2400 DIMM 288pin
Price will be 400$.
------------------------------------------------------
I'm coming from.
AMD Phenom II X6 1050T
ddr3 8gb 1333mhz
------------------------------------------------------
I will keep my.
noctua cpu fan
gtx 1050 2gb
corsair 650w psu

1. since you mentioned 400$, I would like to point out that 400$ is 400 Canadian dollars, where $400 is 400 American dollars.
2. if I assume by your description you have 400$ to upgrade for a CPU, Motherboard, ram. I will assume a typo and you meant $400 dollars not 400$.

if your in the USA, for 400$# you can afford this

I live in Denmark/northern europe.
The ram prices are so high so I went for the cheapest.
I also can’t figure out how much gain there would be in 3000 compared to 2400

Alright.
It’s $400, 330€ :)
Your right about the i5 8xxx and maybe if I have the patience I should wait 1 month and get the better cpu...

Ohh man.
( or buy some flowers for the wife could do it)

I just want to end this thread with this.

I bought the i3 8100, z370 pro4 and 2400mhz 8gb ram.
And the speed is really amazing, it runs really fast compared to my old amd 1055t and 8gb ddr3 ram.'
The framerate in overwatch is around 120fps in high setting, before i was on low setting and 120fps, so this is nice.

I did encounter a big problem during reinstallation of Windows 7 though, it wouldnt recognize my keyboard and mouse so i was stock in the installation menu without the ability to use mouse or keyboard, and i even tryed the different options for legacy and non legacy options in bios, nothing worked.
I Google this problem and apparently Intels latest generation of chipsets dosent support Windows 7.. :/
So i was pretty annoyed by this and had to either mess around with supporting drivers and a ps/2 adaptor or just getting win 10.
so I got win 10 and everything went smoothly, no issues at all and the pc is extremely fast during startup.
I would guess it loads win 10 in 3 seconds allthough i havent timed it.

Anyway, have a nice setup for my needs atm, and I can easily get a huge performance boost later by adding an i5 or i7 8gen cpu.

Thanks anyways
Have a nice day!
