I built my computer a while back and it didn't start acting up until months later. I have an Nvidia graphics card, corsair psu, amd ryzen cpu. It acted up one day and froze while playing a game. I wasn't able to use my computer for a month after that due to me moving. When I was able to use it however it seemed to freeze when I was playing games or watching videos. It wouldn't freeze immediately, but would take a while before it froze. This also differed per game. League of legends or other games usually took longer to freeze, while Injustice 2 if I played with someone else on the same computer with two controllers seemed to freeze almost minutes in. After something caused my computer to freeze, if I powered it off and immediately resumed my task it would freeze or crash a lot more frequently. If I let it rest for a bit, it would work for a longer period of time again. I checked my temperatures and everything was normal. I ran a mem86 test and my RAM is fine. I scanned my harddrive and that was fine. I cleane dout the little dust that was in my computer but that didn't work. I did a full scan with windows defender and nothing showed up to be bad. I deleted an application that I downloaded a couple weeks before this started happening and my computer still froze. I tried using different mice and keyboards and unplugged new usb devices that I was using to no avail. I tried deleting my temp files and increasing my virtual space to 1.5x the amount of my RAM in MB. I also installed all the new drivers for my gpu. I changed the power management settings to adaptive and I tried changing it to maximum pref. What can be the problem? Let me know please. I don't overclock. Thank you.
Specs: My CPU is AMD - Ryzen 3 1300X 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor GPU is EVGA - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB SSC GAMING ACX 3.0 Video Card Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard RAM: Crucial - 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory PSU: Corsair - CX (2017) 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply They were all new. The only thing that was used/refurbished was my monitor.
Someone suggested that I do not have enough head room for my gpu, but wouldn't it immediately have symptoms when I first used it? I still play the same games so I don't understand why it would affect it now and not before.
I talked with Nvidia already and we looked at my gpu sensor log files. We tried using DDU to uninstall drivers and install the latest drivers and even some older ones to no avail. I actually got my GPU RMA'd and it would still have these issues. Recently I noticed that I heard a buzzing sound coming from the PSU occasionally; however, it does not always make a buzzing sound. When it freezes I noticed that there was a usb disconnection sound that would play. I scanned windows for corruption and there wasn't any. The capacitors on my motherboard aren't bulging, however, but I noticed that my RAM was hot to the touch.
