2mb/s download speed for online multiplayer?

Is 2mb/s download speed enough for online games like battlefield 1 and others?

It should be, depending on your line latency (PING). Online games rely heavily on low latency and not so much download speed.

Your upload speed also matters to a point especially on a very small line. It depends on the game and I do know battlefield requirements. Most require about 500kbps up and down.

You will have to be careful to not do much else with the internet connection when you are playing games. Make sure you only have the game running on your PC, even simple web pages have auto updating advertising that can cause spikes of data downloads affecting your game.

That is true, I forgot about the upload speed. In South Africa 2 & 4 Mbps has a 512kbps upload. I was on a 4Mbps/512kbps line and had no issues with BF1 and that is while I am about +-3km from the exchange.

Well, if download speed doesn't matter that much, I think I am fine since I have 0.5mb/s upload speed and when I play a little old games like cod 4 mw and battlefield 4 and nobody is using the internet, I rarely face a problem with the game and thanks for the answers.
