acer LCD Monitor T272HL Mystery Part

Solution
I figured it out by watching an unboxing video. Linus Tech Tips did a video about this monitor prior to it coming out, and at first I thought he was going to just ignore the part, since he skipped over it when pointing out all the other included accessories. Then, at the very end of the video, they apparently finally determined what that piece of plastic was for, and added a clip to the end about it. It turns out, it's a little panel to cover the area where the stand is normally attached, for if you ever decide to remove the stand and use a VESA mount instead. They describe it in a bit more detail in the video. You can skip to 7:28 if you want to get right to that part...
