monitor suddenly goes black until i move mouse.

my monitor sometimes goes black like in sleep mode suddenly and when i move my mouse it comes back. the weird thing is that when it does that and im watching a video or listening to music the video/music keep going while the monitor is doing.......whatever it is doing. HELP

check the power plan/profile. might have set to turn off monitor when idle

yup sounds like the power profile is set to turn off the monitor if it is idle for so long. not a big deal to change, just go into the power settings and change the time to never if you don't want the screen to ever turn itself off.

but it happens when im NOT idle! and now it does that every like 40 sec! it goes black and then turns on and has the lock screen as if i had locked my pc! HELP!!

Can you just check it? idle don't mean is not doing anything, it just no interaction with the user(you)

thats the thing though! it is set to never! it still does that!
