Dell 4K S2817Q 28" monitor USB slots wont work?

Hello!

I am currently using my monitor with HDMI cable, and I decided to plug two USB hubs into it's two usb slots, there is a total of 13 usb slots being added to those 2. however nothing I connect to either of them seems to be read or anything, and they do work outside of those 2 USB slots.

Am I doing something wrong or missing something?

as far as I know, either I need to power those 2 slots with something else, or the computer has a limit of USB slots it can have? which in total with everything in the desktop makes 22 usb slots.

You did plug the monitor's USB hub into the computer through the upstream port on the back, right?

You did plug the monitor's USB hub into the computer through the upstream port on the back, right?

I did not, didn't knew the type B had to be plugged too.

I did not, didn't knew the type B had to be plugged too.

Ports have to be connected to the computer somehow HDMI doesn't carry USB signals.
