Cannot download to flash drive

So recently I have put together a rig and I cannot boot it up, I believe I need windows on a drive to use it? It’s a gigabyte AB350 gaming 3 motherboard, does that affect anything? When I tried to download windows 10 onto my drive(using my sisters laptop) it kept failing. Any suggestions?

Make a folder on the C: drive and download to it. Then copy to the flash drive.
