I can't decide which gpu to buy

I am just the average gamer looking to build my very first gaming pc. I am going for a mid ranged build but i can't decide which gpu i should use. I wanna get the best gpu for my money but i can't decide between amd or nvdia. I am not planning to do any intense overclocking or anything like tht so cn anyone give some advice

Whats the rest of system ? Much depends on it. You can in theory use best of the best and most expensive GPU but your processor or system could use only 1% of it.

I am using a ryzen 1600 and a msi b350m pro gaming motherboard. I am using 16 gb of ram from hyperx

That one can use practically any GPU on the market so next thing to decide is which games and how much to pay for it. Regardless of AMD or Nvidia.

I mainly planning to play shooters like csgo, overwatch and fornite but i also play rocket league. I am a very competitive person and i want to get the best fps i cn get for a good price.
