worth buying a 144hz monitor for my laptop?

i was thinking of buying a 144hz monitor for my gaming laptop it would be the primary monitor and i would use the laptop as the second monitor im not sure if my laptop can handle it though and if its worth the money.
i have a MSI GE70 APACHE PRO
16GB ram
gtx geforce 860m
i7 4700 smth like that dont remember exactly
Will my laptop handle it?
Should i go TN or IPS?

With the mobile graphics card you have in that laptop you have to game with low setting even in e-sports titles to get more than 60 frames. Correct me if I am wrong!

So using a higher than 60Hz refresh rate monitor would not change much.
