In-game resolution refresh rate question.

Hi i had recently purchased a new gaming monitor "BenQ Zowie XL2720 27 Inch 144Hz" i've set up the refresh rate via the NVIDIA Control Panel Custom Resolution setting. Also have set this up in windows display settings all set to 144hz.

My question is basically how can i force games to display 144hz on all resolutions? I like to play certain resolutions for particular games but i want to have the same refresh rate, as an example the in-game resolution selections are displaying like this:
1024×576 (60hz)
1152×648 (119.98hz)
1280×720 (120hz)
1366×768 (75hz)
1600×900 (60hz)
1920×1080 (120hz)
2560×1440 (144hz)

I want them to display like so:
1024×576 (144hz)
1152×648 (144hz)
1280×720 (144hz)
1366×768 (144hz)
1600×900 (144hz)
1920×1080 (144hz)
2560×1440 (144hz)

Thanks.

You can set custom profiles in the Nvidia control panel. Display>Change Resolution> Click on "Add Resolutions" (or "Customize", not sure what the button is called in the current Nvidia control panel). From there, add a custom resolution, and you'll see the settings you want. You may also want to change the timing from automatic to manual. Then click test; if everything goes well, keep the changes.

If you change the timing to manual, under the timing menu is another refresh rate option: You'll probably want to set that to 0.001 higher than your selected refresh rate under the display mode settings (so 144hz under display, and 144.001hz under timing).

Rinse and repeat for all preferred resolutions.

At least that's one way... I think.

I tried making several custom resolutions before but it doesn't work, i have to set my desktop to that resolution to see 144hz in-game for that particular resolution if that makes sense.

Yeah, that was what the method I suggested entailed; it would have been required to change the desktop resolution settings for each game.

If you don't want to do that, my next best suggestion is to search each game's folder and look for the initialization or settings file, open it with notepad, and hope the game is programmed to have a changeable resolution rate, and change that to 144....

But each game is different, so google searching each game and the words "refresh rate change" or something along those lines, would be your best bet to find those settings.
