Brightness problem with monitor

Hey guys, I just got a new monitor LG-24MP88HV-S which is a 1920x1080 display.... Now the problem is, when I start playing a game, the brightness turns dim....for some games like FIFA 18 and GTA 5, the brightness goes low as usual and turns back to normal brightness once I go to the main menu or pause the game..... I never had this problem with the old monitor that I had.... please help me with this?
My specs are:
Nvidia gtx 750-ti
8gb ram
I3-4150
Windows 8.1 pro

It sounds like it might be switching "modes" automatically. I have a TV that has different "modes" like "movie mode" "game mode" etc....

See if your monitor has different modes that you can set. Maybe it's doing something automatically that you don't want it doing and you can override it.
