3 Monitor Setup G-SYNC and FREESYNC

Hello,

So recently I bought this G-SYNC Alienware monitor and love it,

I'm looking for a 3 monitor setup with this monitor and was wondering if it matters if I have 1 G-SYNC monitor in the middle and 2 FREESYNC monitors left and right. The reason being FREESYNC monitor costs £170 less and it could save me a lot of money.

FREESYNC Version = £299
G-SYNC Version = £470

No, it doesn't matter. "FreeSync monitors" are just normal monitors as far as NVIDIA cards are concerned.

G-sync and freesync aren't compatible. One is amd and the other nvidia, and as far as I know there's no crossover in their use. Even though they do sort of the same thing, they do it differently. You need a g-sync for your card.

The monitors are meant to work even if you decided not to enable g-sync and freesync. So I cannot see why you would not be able to do it if you disable g-sync and freesync in all the monitors.

If the only difference of the monitors is the g-sync then it should work fine since resolution, size etc are the same.

So if you are willing to sacrifice the g-sync experience that you are having right now you can do it.


Don't quote me on what i said though maybe im wrong.

Freesync doesn't matter, your Nvidia card will see both as normal monitors.

So for easier search terms would be mixing Gsync with non Gsync for experiences in these setups.

My guess if you game in surround, the Gsync monitor would appear smoother. Whether that would bother you or not, it might be fine but wont know until you try it.
