Hello all, I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron laptop. I want to connect the laptop to a desktop monitor. The laptop is limited to one HDMI port only (ridiculous I know !).
So my question is what would the best adapter to get be HDMI to (VGA - DVI-D or DisplayPort ).

HDMI only supports adapters to DVI, unless you use an active adapter which is more expensive and less reliable. Does the monitor not have HDMI?

Hello glen, it does not. There are 3 usb's on the laptop and one HDMI. The monitor has (VGA - DVI-D or DisplayPort ), that's why I asked.

So your saying my only option is a HDMI (laptop) to DVI-D (monitor) adapter?
