Radeon X1650 problems - DVI to HDMI won't show unless I disable Radeon Display Adapter

Hi. I'm running an older Win XP. Some year ago, I got a DVI-to-HDMI converter to run my old machine on my LCD tv. However, a week ago, the computer decided that it won't show on my tv. I fiddled around a bit and have discovered that it will send signal to tv only if I have the Radeon X1650 display adapter disabled. This is quite bizzare, as it did display the DVI-HDMI signal for a year and then it didn't. I have tried updating the graphics card as best I can with outdated XP, but I am unable to determine why it suddenly stopped supporting it.
With Radeon X1650 display adapter on, it does send signal to my old VGA monitor. Yet for some reason it won't show on my LCD TV, connected by DVI-to-HDMI cable.

I'm currently on tight budget, so new computer is out of question for quite a while. Not too thrilled to update to newer OS, since I fear issues may persist or worsen - not to mention making software incompatible. Help me out!

[strike]Nevermind, I contacted ATI/AMD technical support.[/strike]

ATI/AMD technical support's tips haven't bought desired results yet. If you know anything about this headache, please help.
