So the last few weeks I have been having issues with my PC not getting my full gigabit internet speed like it had been. I thought it could be my cables so I pulled out a windows 10 laptop I never use, nor ever update. Low and behold IT was getting the full gig. After not being able to figure out what it was I did a clean install of Windows 10... And it fixed it! fast forward about 5 hours after I started getting my windows 10 updates. it is now back to being throttled to about 210 on speed test. I have updated every driver, turned off anything and everything that could be causing it to no avail. I then for shit and giggles went ahead and updated the old laptop... it now only get about 210-216 max from the 900+ it was getting. Has anyone else had this issue?

All installs were full clean installs

here is my earlier speed test before any of the Windows updates. http://www.speedtest.net/result/7174520336.png

Here is After the windows updates http://www.speedtest.net/result/7177722652.png

Testing from within my router itself is able to get full speed as well as testing okla from my apple tv.

I refreshed the laptop back to a fresh install and that can now get the full speed again.

Hi,

I was having a similar problem but in my case with a Linksys wifi adapter (dual band). For me, the connection drops sometimes and also the speeds are wrong,
upload is ok at about 300MBits/s but ridiculous low at 2Mbits/s.

All the week trying to find what was going on and then discovered something is wrong with latest update and it's related to drivers of USB Root Hub and USB Host Controller.

In devices in control panel I saw some generic drivers from Microsoft.

I search for drivers in my case AsMedia but there are other vendors and found this page https://www.win-raid.com/t834f25-USB-Drivers-original-a...

Install new drivers and test again and saw no improvement at all in download speed.

Then tried a program call USB Device Tree Viewer were you can view actual connected devices for USB and their current speeds. My wifi adapter is compatible USB 3.0 and connection says is working in mode USB 3.0.

And here is the strange thing. When connected in 3.0 mode upload speed is correct 300Mbits/s but download is ridiculous low at 2Mbits/s.

Change it to mode USB 2.0 and test again and saw speed is about 190Mbits for down and upload.

Really don't know why it's not working is USB 3.0 for download.
