I built his computer for a friend and have been trying to troubleshoot the problems but I'm not sure how to get it to stop freezing. Initially I was able to install all the bios and install and play a game on steam. I never had any problems then I gave it to my friend and now it keeps freezing. I tried installing windows 10 pro again with new downloaded software on a USB but it froze after 10-15 min. I've had trouble getting the motherboard to read the video card even though it monitor is hooked up through the video card. Any help is appreciated.

PC specs:
Asus M5A97 R2.0 AM3+
AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz
2x8g G. Skill Sniper series DDR3 2133(PC3 17000)
Gigabyte Radeon RX460 4GB
Seagate 500GB 5900 RPM

The CPU is not really compatible with that motherboard.

The board: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A97_R20/specifications/
Supports CPU up to 140 W

The CPU: https://www.amd.com/en/support/cpu/amd-fx-series/amd-fx-8-core-black-edition/fx-9590
Default TDP / TDP 220W

Thanks for the info! That seems like an easy explanation. Never ran into that ever being an issue before...lesson learned I guess.
