What are the limitations and requirements for a dual monitor setup?

Basically I am looking at getting a second monitor and I have a few questions. I currently have a 144 hz 1440p 1ms gaming monitor that I play on. I just want to use the second screen for my browser, or other information I would look at while playing. I know that if I want to maintain the 1440p resolution on both screens I will need that same resolution on the new monitor.

Do I, however, still need a 144 hz 1 ms monitor for the second screen? In other words, if I have a 144hz monitor that I play on can I have a second monitor running at 60 Hz without having to lower my refresh rate on my main monitor?

as said above.
I have a 100Hz main monitor and 60Hz secondary. Works very well.
though when gamin, i'd recommend to run games in windowed borderless mode. Less annoying switching between apps.

Multiple monitors do not have to be related in any way.
