Hi there. I currently have a old Samsung monitor.
http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS24B5HVFH/ZA-specs

I am looking for a new monitor.

My PC specs are as follows :
Intel i7-6700k
32GB 2133MHz DDR4 Corsair RAM
ASUS 980Ti Strix OC 6GB card ( https://www.asus.com/nz/Graphics-Cards/STRIXGTX980TIDC3OC6GD5GAMING/ ).

I have been looking at 1440p with a higher refresh rate but also trying to take into account i have my PS4 Pro hooked up to the same monitor and switch between PC / Console gaming. (70% pc / 30% console).

I need some advice as to what monitor I should consider and why.

Thank you :)

UPDATED :

I am thinking of either (both are currently on sale at my locale IT store)

Acer Predator XB271HU 27" WQHD Nvidia G-SYNC Gaming Monitor or
Acer Predator XB271HUA 27" WQHD Nvidia G-SYNC Gaming Monitor (IPS).

Solution
go with the HU (IPS) over the HUA (TN). both good monitors. since your in that price range, the pg279q is a good one too. i've been using the older pg278q for over three years and its still running strong. gsync is where you are paying a higher premium for these. do some research on gsync and see if its worth it for you. ive seen a lot of mixed feelings about it. i was never able to tell the difference with mine.
you would want:
-144hz refresh (might not get close to 144fps with newer AAA titles, but things like overwatch or fortnite are no problem)
->5ms response (less input lag, less time for your movements to be recognized)
-27" screen (everything will appear too small at 24" with the higher resolution and scaling things smaller never looks good)

here is a list of monitors like that:
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#T=1,5&H=144,240&r=256001440&sort=price&page=1&W=2600,5500

here's my recommendation:
ASUS MG278Q WQHD, 1ms 27-Inch FreeSync Gaming Monitor
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236593&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

That one is a TN panel. As opposed to IPS, the viewing angels and color arent as superior, but the response time is better, they are a little cheaper, they don't suffer from backlight bleed.

it does have an hdmi for your ps4 and a displayport for your computer. would just need to switch inputs.

$700 some dollars is a lot for a monitor. But it will last a long time. I've had my Asus PG279Q for 2.5yrs and plan on keeping it around 6yrs. By then 4k will be more the norm.

But Gsync seems a must. I went from non Fresync or Gsync to Gysnc and never saw tearing again.
