I upgraded to windows 10 a week ago. Sense my network adapter disconnects and reconnects constantly while downloading. Its fine when streaming and playing games on the highest available quality.

I have turned off the option to save energy on the network adapter, changed my power settings to highest performance and updated my network drivers to the most recent stable version.

Its starting to get really annoying as downloads are taking much longer then they should with my speeds.

Im using a TP-Link usb adapter and I never once had an issue on Windows 7 with it.

Also sometimes when the network adapter disconnects I also loose use of my mouse and keyboard for a couple of seconds..

Windows 10 is also updated to the most current version.

Any suggestions to fix this issue would be highly appreciated

Solution
-make sure that the usb ports are not going into some power saving mode.
- download usbview from here:https://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html
to see if any errors are on the usb ports.
-download autoruns from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns
select the hide Microsoft entries then click on the driver tab and look for old drivers. especially usb drivers before 2012 (some old Logitech drivers would take usb packets that were for other drivers, it means the other driver would never see the signal)

find the name of your tplink driver then go here http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=atikmdag.sys (enter in the driver name and see if they list the OEM update site for the chipset in the network...

windows 7 machines had low power links disabled by default, when you upgrade to windows 8 or 10 bad circuit designs in the electronics and bad code in drivers gets exposed Most of time a device will go to sleep but not wake up.

newer drivers may also reduce the transmit power to the antenna on the local machine. if your router is far away you can get a situation where your machine can see the router packets but can not have enough power to send packets to the router. Pick up your machine and move near the router (within 3 feet) and reboot your machine and see if you still have a problem.

Certain routers have old bugs in their protocols. You may have to update the router firmware.
routers can overheat and drop connections
