DVI to VGA adapter HELP!

I need to buy a DVI to VGA adapter so that i can use my VGA monitor which is also capable of 75hz.

Would i still be able to use the 75hz when i'm using the DVI to VGA adapter?

What graphics card is this DVI on? New graphics cards have only DVI-D (digital output only) so an active (powered) adapter is required.
