Hello, I built a PC on Saturday. My current problem is I purchased a monitor with g sync support, the Dell s2417dg. My monitor has been used with my Xbox before my build so I know it's working.

When I connect my monitor to my graphics card, the monitor goes to sleep and no display comes up. I cannot wake it up. I have disabled power saving mode on the monitor.

Currently my specs are
Intel I5-8600k processor
Aorus z370 ultra gaming motherboard
2 g skill 8g ram ddr4 3200
Gforce 1060 GPU

Monitor again is Dell s2417dg

I know my graphics card works. I set it up at a 3rd party house who helped me build the PC. We had issues detecting display at first but it came through easy enough. Graphics card also benches extremely low but can handle high settings on wargame at effeciency of 45+ fps with a test of extreme fps crush. (We threw a lot of explosions in one spot). But I know the graphics card works as I have used it on his monitors, and a tv at my home.

Monitor turns bright orange in bios, which is the wrong coloring for aorus bios when connected to graphics card.

Solutions I have attempted.

Restarting computer (lol)
Unplugging everything, replugging everything
Disabling internal graphics card on bios screen
Changing pcie port used in bios
Changing gpu's pcie port
Restarting computer
Using higher quality HDMI cables
Using HDMI to display port converter.
Uninstalling Nvidia drivers, but keeping them, then reinstalling
Uninstalling Nvidia drivers and deleting all of them, then reinstalling drivers.
Manually changing general pnp monitor

Have not tried dvi to HDMI converter yet, was going to try that but it doesn't seem my connection seems to be the problem. Any help is much appreciated. I've talked to several techs in a group I'm a part of on discord, I've been reading posts over the internet for the past few days on display problems reading about just everything I can get my hands on.

Graphics card will come up under device manager. If I don't have my GPU connected to my tv, I cannot edit Nvidia control panel. If I unplug my GPU, it will close Nvidia control panel so I feel I cannot do anything without having my GPU connected to my tv.

Sorry if my stress has come out in the post. This is my first PC build and was pretty excited to get into it.

Update:
Tried dvi to HDMI. That did not work either.

That can't be a GTX 1060; NVIDIA 10-series cards don't...

This is an Nvidia GeForce 1060 3g, I only have 2 video ports, a HDMI and dvi port and a slot for an sli connector

That seems unlikely; is it from a prebuilt computer?

Yes weird and unlikely but it is how the gpu is. I can upload a picture if you want. No it came in a box from the manufacturer

That would be appreciated actually.

Make sure the display is set to the correct input, it doesn't change automatically. Does it show up in device manager under the "Monitors" section?

That can't be a GTX 1060; NVIDIA 10-series cards don't have an onboard analog converter, so there is no way it could have a VGA output port.

Check with GPU-Z and find out what it really is.
