a special BSOD, afterwards computer won't boot

I think it happened on booting Win8.1.

I then rebooted, screen + peripherals remained turned off, no telltale beeps.

Hope I haven't burned another RAM :-/

Has anyone seen it before ?

Looks to me like possibly something is corrupt with the Windows install or RAM is bad. Try downloading memtest on a USB drive and scanning your RAM for errors. If nothing is wrong there, if you have a mechanical HDD try SeaTools for DOS to do a long disk self test of your drive to check for possible bad sectors.
