So I bought TWO 144 hz acer monitors but my video card only has ONE DVI link port and ONE hdmi port. I didn't know if you could use dvi link on one monitor and if I had a HDMI cable that supported 144hz monitors if I could use that on the other port and have both monitors run at 144hz? Because right now if I have both monitors plugged into my computer using just a normal HDMI cable they both run at 60 hz and I CANNOT use 144hz! I didnt know if there is a better way or how to solve this other than if I can buy a hdmi cable that supports 144hz or do I have to get a new video card that has more dvi ports? I currently have a MSI gtx 1060 6gb video card. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GAMING-GTX-1060-6G/dp/B01IEKYD5U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523724333&sr=8-1&keywords=gtx+1060+msi+6gb+video

HDMI is limited to 60 Hz on some monitors. You would need a monitor that supports 144 Hz over HDMI.

You should be able to set one monitor to 144 Hz if it is connected over Dual-Link DVI, you don't need to have both monitors connected that way.

these are both the monitors I own https://www.amazon.com/Acer-GN246HL-Bbid-24-Inch-Display/dp/B00KO4518I/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1523725943&sr=1-1&keywords=acer+gn246hl&dpID=51aitVb-dXL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch I was told that there are hdmi cables that support up to 144 hz like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N343SBS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 So I was just wondering if I could use hdmi on one monitor then dvi on another if that'll work if they both support 144 hz? Because as of right now no I cant set one to 144 and the other to 60. they are BOTH stuck at 60 hz.

No, the HDMI port on that monitor is limited to 60 Hz. Please refer to this thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3675170/connect-120-display-construction.html

Can you tell me the situation in more detail in terms of what steps you have taken to set the refresh rate? Have you tried to set the refresh rate to 144 Hz, and there are no options available except 60 Hz?
