trade 1080p 144Hz to 1440p 60Hz

as title said, currently i have LG 24gm79
im interested to change my monitor to a 1440p IPS

but with the same price range, i only can afford 60Hz, i found this one interesting :
Dell UltraSharp U2515Hx 25"

i use my pc mostly for mutimedia, but most of the content are 1080P
gaming , both casual and fps, i play dota2 a lot

Do you think is it an upgrade or downgrade?
any suggestion appreciated, thanks

It really depends on games you play.
For FPS it's more beneficial to have higher refresh rate than higher resolution.
Also higher resolution requires more powerful graphics card.

i only have rx580 , and no plan to upgrade in near time

do you think that the better resolution and color from IPS is worth to trade off with lower refresh rate?

If you do photo/video editing, then yes.
If you mainly play FPS, then no.
