So i have windows 10 64bit and im at like 70%+ memory usage all the time even on desktop. I have 16gb of ram and not really sure what's going on. I've run every virus scanner imaginable from malwarebytes to roguekiller and have found nothing. Here are some (I hope) relevent screenshots. https://i.gyazo.com/067baff865727f8fbb5364f43e05ecba.png

Solution
can only stop defender if you have a better AV installed.

Hearthstone deck tracker sure looks like the cause. dwm seems pretty big still at 1.7gb, guess it depends on what else is running as my dwm is only 100,884 k

What are specs of the PC? Which Asus motherboard?

Its possibly a memory leak caused by a driver not giving back the ram allocated to it.

Did you sort resource manager by Private Bytes as that is actual ram usage

Desktop windows manager is using about 1gb of ram but has 8gb allocated for it in commitments (its sharing 5.6gb with other processes, likely Hearthstone when its not reduced?
Next is Hearthstone, then defender, then Chrome. none of the items listed are using enough to match usage.

Download Process explorer and run it as admin (it comes from Microsoft so its safe)

the default view is tree structure meaning like your task manager screen, it will show what processes are under each service, but unlike task manager, it shows the ram usage of each part so you can see what is eating your ram

Private bytes = actual ram usage
Working set = Ram + page file usage

This page shows what all the colours and headings mean, link at bottom of it shows how to use it to find problems. You can right click processes and run an av scan from within the program.

Thanks for the information so far.
The specs are. i7 4820k, with the Asus p9x79 Rev 1.xx motherboard. 16gb dd3 quad channel @800.4mhz (not sure on which brand. With a GTX 760 which I was running sli with another one but I removed it from the PC as I saw no real benefit in the SLI in any games I play and prefer to just have one stored away as a back up if needed. I read the page you listed about process explorer and couldn't really find anything to help me but i took a screenshot if it helps in anyway.

A guy on another thread said it was because of hearthstone deck tracker and the issue doesn't seem to happen while it isn't running I'm surprised I didn't notice. Unless he was just flat out wrong and it just fixed itself on restart randomly (wasnt my first restart) seems a strange co-incidence. Thanks for your help though.

you have 13 chrome tab open also why you use microsoft antimalwares and spy bot at the same time the other thin you have battle net on and the hearstone with the steam process also you have 2 steam helper instance on the same time and you use a tunnel bear virtual network . then check this about your dwm high ram value https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/what-is-dwmexe-and-why-is-it-running/

Everything you said is true but had minimal effect. I'm pretty sure it was related to hearthstone tracker for some reason. I'm don't use the microsoft antimalware I don't even know why it's running or if it's worth stopping the service if i even can

Looking at that last screen shot it looks like you have not fixed your issue, 78% memory is still high;
