75hz not working on monitor

I recently bought a 75hz monitor and i noticed that it displaying 60fps. I've went into the nvidia control panel and looked if i could change the refresh rate from there but i can't it's stuck at 60fps also i'm using a hdmi cable

Make sure you are selecting the resolution from the "pc" section of the list.

i went on pc and it only had 1680x1050 and it only had the option of 60hz

That monitor may only support 75 Hz over DisplayPort. Some monitors are limited to 60 Hz over HDMI.
