What info is stored on a flash drive?

I received a flash drive. I believe this flash drive is evidence of a misdemeanor crime. Do to certain circumstances I can't go to the police until I have a little more information.

Is there any info of the PC that copied the files to the flash drive on the flash drive?
Is there any info that links the files to a persons specific software, even if millions of people have the same software?
Can the date and time the files were created be altered? If so, is there evidence that that has happened?

The chain of custody on this drive has not merely been compromised, but in fact thrown into the river.

I strongly urge you to not mess with it any more.

You need to contact a lawyer well versed in digital forensics.
What may or may not be on that drive could be anything.
