Transfering hard drive to new system

Hi! My pc is long overdue an upgrade and I'm intending on replacing the motherboard, CPU and ram. I also intend to keep the hard drive I am using now. I'm just wondering if I will have any problems using the hard drive and running Windows with the new components?

You should be able to use that drive, but you'll need to reinstall Windows and your apps.

The physical drive, no problem.
The OS on it? Maybe problem.

3 possibilities:
1. It boots up just fine.
2. It fails completely
3. It boots up, but you find lingering issues later.

What OS is this? Where did it come from?
What are the old and new parts?

It's windows 10. I originally installed Windows 7 from a disc but recently updated. The old parts are an MSI 970 motherboard, AMD fx6300 CPU and 2x 4gb hyperX fury ram. New parts are Asus b350 strix motherboard, AMD Ryzen 5 1600 and 2x 4gb Corsair vengeance ram

THat's just for the licensing/activation.

That level of hardware change...a full reinstall is strongly recommended.
Often required.
