Resolution doesn't fit screen in games

My monitor's native resolution is 1440x900 and that's the only resolution that I can play games,when i put it down to 720p left side is black,right side of the monitor is half the game,the only game was Arkham Knight, it fit my screen on 720p,every other game wont,what can I do to fix this? I don't have a very strong pc and not every game runs so great on my native res ...and yes my gpu is MSI Rx 550 low profile

Don't set the resolution to 720p, leave it at 900p. If that doesn't work than you probably need to get a new monitor or use a spare one. If that doesn't work you might have a problem with the HDMI or your GPU.
