Trying to install the April update, but getting 0x800f081e error code, yet DISM and SFC say everything is ok.

I have no idea what went wrong, already installed a couple "big" updates along the way, there wasn't any problem before. How should I fix this?

Ver 1709 , build 16299.402

As I checked fast, turns out there was a last minute update just before a few days ago that installed 16299.402. (on the Microsoft website, it says 16299.371 (on 4/10/2018) is the last one before the April update. So maybe I should revert that update, no?

Run "services.msc"

1. Stop Windows Update service.
2. Stop Windows Management Instrumentation service
3. Delete c:\windows\system32\wbem\repository folder
4. Delete files within c:\windows\softwaredistribution\download

Restart Windows and try update again.
