Alienware AW2518H only allowing me 200hz but not 240hz?

I just purchased an AW2518H but I'm having issues and neither EVGA or Dell can help me

My GPU is an EVGA 660 SC 2gb

660 Spec sheet

Nvidia Spec sheet: 660]https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-660/specifications]660 Spec sheet[/url]

Monitor spec sheet: https://katalog.atcomp.cz/katalog/D-M-AW2518H/Dell_AW2518H.pdf

I'm using the display port and I've tried 2 cables.

I have no other displays hooked up.

I've tried using DDU and doing a clean install to the latest Nvidia Drivers

My OS is windows 7 x64 pro

I can only change the hz to 200hz in nvidia control panel as well as windows display settings with no option to force it anywhere.

please refer the spec sheets I provided.

I'm completely lost at figuring this out.

Solution
It's a Kepler graphics card, it doesn't support the full bandwidth of DisplayPort 1.2. It has a maximum pixel rate of 540 Mpx/s, which is a bit below the 580 or so required for 1080p 240 Hz.

This monitor doesn't have OSD settings to set 240hz.

The monitor doesnt have an overdrive or overclock option to do that

all the settings should be in Nvidia or windows

yes I turned off gsync

Reinstalled drivers after using DDU

ULMB wasn't active

Checked Windows and nvidia. Also checked to see if i could manually set it but no go.

did a factory reset of the monitor

I dont have another GPU to try unfortunately otherwise i wouldn't be using a 660 haha

I'll just RMA it i guess, it has a dead pixel or two anyways so i guess fuck it.

it just sucks cause i cant really find similar post about this issue

It will support 240 Hz, as long as the total pixel rate doesn't exceed 540 Mpx/s. At 1920×1080, it does. Same reason 1440p 165 Hz monitors don't work on Kepler graphics cards.

Ooh thats sneaky, thanks glen I learned something new too :)

I see

So I'd have to use a single display at 200hz otherwise if i use 3 on one card, it'll only output at 144hz for whatever reason

I just got off the phone with EVGA support and he said 240hz is only for VGA apparently. A bit misleading but what can I do.

It took me 3 EVGA agents till I heard one mention "pixel clock"

the other 2 reassured me it was a monitor issue.

I guess I can use my 560ti to just run my other monitors for the time being.
:/

Where can I find information on a cards pixel clock speeds?

I literally spoke to 3 EVGA agents (1 EVGa agent told me what you said) , 1 Nvidia agent, and 2 Dell agents in which all assumed was the monitor
