Monitor won't turn on,PLEASE HELP!

OK,so I have my PC hooked up to my monitor over display port ,today I turned it on,it worked fine,then I decided to plug in an HDMI to my PC to go to a TV to use as a second monitor,I turn the PC on,it displays on the TV fine,but the monitor doesn't turn on and has no signal,eventually i gave up and unplugged the HDMI,now however when I turn my PC on the monitor won't display,it will flash on for a brief second as I plug in the cable but nothing else, please help

Windows may have got stuck in setting the display to the HDMI first instead of DP.
Plug the TV back in, and go to the windows display properties and check that it displays on Monitor as number 1 and not number 2.
