Asus VG278Q 27 Monitor Support 144hz ?

Hi guys so I have my Dell 7567 with Hdmi 2.0. I am planing to buy ASUS VG278Q with hdmi 1.4. I am gonna plug hdmi 2.0 will it support 144 hz or do I need dp to hdmi cable to support 1080 144 hz.

You need to concern yourself with HDMI 2.0 vs 1.4 if you plan on using it on 4k (your monitor is 1080p).

Otherwise, you are good to go.

Thanks you for the answer so since I have 1080p 144hz monitor with 1.4 input I should get 144 hz with my 2.0 hdmi cable. Just wanted to clarify.

I am confused as to what you just mentioned. Your monitor supports HDMI(v1.4), DisplayPort 1.2, Dual-link DVI-D.

Please be aware people have failed to use HDMI at 120Hz though technically that's the maximum an HDMI can support @1080p.

The VG278Q supports up to 120 Hz over HDMI according to its manual.

Maximum of HDMI 1.4 at 1080p is 144 Hz (not 120) although it depends on what the monitor manufacturer implements. In this case, the monitor supports up to 120 Hz.

Thank you for the answer so If I connect my Dell 7567. I will be getting 120 Hz but not 144 Hz. If thats the case I should get another monitor thank you.
