Displaying HDMI signal on laptop screen.

I have seen this question many times before but never found an answer.
Is there any way to get an hdmi signal into like a laptop or something and have it displayed there?
maybe through some software and hdmi to usb c dongles cause i know that the hdmi port is only out not in.
In my specific usecase it would be a Nintendo Switch that i want to connect to my Asus Transformer tablet because my TV has too much input lag sometimes.

You'd need a USB C capture card like one of these.
