HI, I have a Asrock z370 Taichi Motherboard and when I restart the computer sometimes it will say that my bios needs changing or it will load into my second bios which is with the preset settings and not my settings. I wanted to ask why is this happening because it only happens a small amount of times and otherwise my computer is stable and working fine and passes stress test as well.

My bios is version 1.30

What drives do you have plugged into your Sata ports, and which ports are they plugged in to? 6 of your Sata ports are controlled by the Z370 chipset and 2 are controlled by an add-on ASMedia chip. Are you using any older mechanical hard drives that may be failing?

The drives that I am using are new and it is a Samsung M.2 960 EVO 256GB at the moment. I currently only have that SSD for space and the i7 8700k. I will be upgrading to a new GTX 1170 if that’s what it is called by the end of September.

Next time your computer fails to boot, check if the Dr. Debug LED on your motherboard displays any code information you can use to troubleshoot the problem.
