Hello guys,

I just finished building my new pc and now I wanted to fresh install my Windows.
I made a bootable usb stick and now i am in the Windows partition window.
I am reusing the old HDD that I had on my older pc that has MBR.
Now because I have UEFI i need my partition to be GPT , i tried to convert it in gpt in diskpart but it says . The specified disk is not convertible. CDROMs and DVDs are examples of disks that are not convertable.

I dont want to format my hdd because I have stuff on it, and I also cant go into Windows now because i already deleted the partition.

What can I do?

You cannot convert a partition to GPT, this is a disk format, the entire hdd must be initialized in GPT. You can use any bootable partition tools to do this without loosing data. I use minipartition tools bootable ISO to make a stick using rufus usb maker and when you boot the stick from the menu select the entire disk and click convert to GPT. It will transform the entire disk to gpt without loosing any data.
