Looking for a solution for my ssd

Hello guys,
I have ASUS K501LX laptop, and I bought Samsung 960 EVO m.2 SSD. This laptop has m2 slot ssd. But when I put the ssd i to the slot and turning on my laptop. My computer is not detecting the ssd. Even though my BIOS firmware is updated already. I download the driver for nvme. But the message prompt is samsung nvme is not connected.

Please help me if you have any knowledge about this.

Not all m.2 drives are the same.

Have you determined that your laptop can take an NVMe drive?
How have you determined this?

The Samsung 960 evo m.2 is a pcie drive; my reading of your laptop specs says you have a m.2 sata interface.
You need something like a 850 evo m.2
