I am trying to install windows 10 on an old PC with LGA 755 mobo. Problem is the mobo BIOS, which is American Megatrends BIOS, does not seem to detect boot or support boot from USB 3.0?? I don't know, but I cannot detect any USB Boot option in the BIOS.

So I was wondering if I can somehow install win 10 to an empty SSD without having to use a bootable USB? Can I use VMWare to install windows from USB by selecting a entire disk as a drive, then boot from it later?

You can use UnetBootin to do the same you just need to select the SSD as a drive to install. Alternatively you can burn PlopBoot manager in a CD/DVD and boot it and it will detect the USB and you can take the install from there...
